Meet Matthew, One of our accredited partners.

Matthew Williams began his career in the building conservation sector, graduating with a 1st class degree in Architectural History from Edinburgh University and subsequently completing a post-graduate degree in conservation at Bath University. He worked as a contracts manager in London and Essex before becoming Church Buildings Advisor to the Diocese of London. He subsequently retrained as a Chartered Building Surveyor in a specialist ecclesiastical practice in the City of London, working on some of the country’s most high profile church buildings.

Following a move to Manchester in 2015, Matthew worked for several years in commercial private practice in the city, carrying our building surveys and monitoring works for major public and private sector clients including Manchester City Council, Manchester University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester Airports Group, Transport for Greater Manchester, The Cooperative Group and Cushman & Wakefield.

Since establishing Williams Conservation Surveying in 2019, the practice has undertaken a wide range of both residential and commercial surveying work and has developed a particular interest in fire safety. Matthew has since enrolled on the RICS External Wall Assessment course and provided advice to a range of major clients in partnership with SFI

SFI Director, Josh Tedstone said “I am delighted to collaborate with Matthew, such a reputable and knowledgeable person in the industry. Bringing a high standard of professionalism and great work ethic to all areas of our work together”.
