Building Safety Act 2022 – What you need to know

The Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA) is an attempt to improve the UK’s building standards, following the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower, which was five years ago this week.  The Act received Royal Assent late in April and has ended almost a year of debate by both Houses of Parliament.

Proposed oversight of the building control profession

Under the Building Safety Bill that is currently going through Parliament, the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) will independently oversee the building control profession. They will assess it through a robust regulatory framework.

Cladding consultancy SFI (Specialist Façade Inspections) has teamed up with Crumlin Cricket Club in a corporate partnership which sees the external cladding system specialists become headline sponsors of the historic club.
